Tamara Davenne has been showing good form for the last couple of weeks and continued to show off her strength on Sunday at the Bath CC Cotswold Race, just missing out on the win in the final sprint. Great effort and we look forward to seeing that sprint improve next time!
Bath CC Costwold RR women 2/3/4 – It was 1 72km race with 3 laps of a rolling course. The first lap saw few attacks, and I tried myself to get away without managing to escape. Strong riders were marked with a bunch chasing every attacks. The second lap was much slower, the dynamic of the bunch slowdown and no serious attempt was made probably due to the lack of success in the previous lap. Mainly the same 5-7 riders doing some turn at the front. I managed to get away with 2 riders from 24/7 but it didn’t last for long. In the final lap I launched an attack at 10km to go but it wasn’t successful. Few riders, mainly Chanel Mason from Cylcing Union contributed to increase the pace in the last few km. The final corner was a it more than 1 km before the finish line, a slightly downhill section (1%). I was well positionned at that time, 2d, in the wheel of somoene determine to increase the pace. I hold my position and when I finally saw the finish line with 200m somoene jumped from behin starting her sprint. I launched mine as soon as I saw her (Corinne Clark from 24/7) attacking. Her sprint was strong, although I managed to reduce the gap, she crossed the finish line first and took the win. I am improving my technique and managed to be well positioned before starting my sprint . I need to learn the bike throw, I am still learning and it is very pleasant to see my skills improving every race.
