Despite being held a couple of weeks earlier than usual, the weather held out and allowed twenty-five riders to take part in cycling Cuppers. As in previous years, the event was a ten mile time trial on the HHC118 course, just outside of Stadhampton.

The women’s race was won comprehensively by visiting rider Jessica Rhodes-Jones in 24:24, and recent rowing convert Joanneke Jansen (New College) took first place in the individual Cuppers event. Lincoln, however, took the team win in a time of 58:21.

A Lincoln double was prevented by brilliant rides from Jack Brent and Dan Nash (Univ. college), whose collective time of 50:15 took the win from Lincoln by a mere 12 secs. Alex Bradley took the individual win in the men’s race with a Cuppers record time of 21:39.

Afterwards, riders enjoyed well deserved pizza and prizes were awarded; a big thanks to Aerocoach for the kind donation of a kit bag for both of the individual winner.
